Peyton McElyea

Mr. McElyea is the founder of Dirigo Investment Advisors where he is responsible for investment strategy, trade execution, client advisory and the firm’s regulatory compliance program. Mr. McElyea began his career with Barclays Capital as an investment banker focused on executing leveraged and high grade capital markets transactions for U.S. industrial companies. Mr. McElyea previously worked as a deputy to U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin at OneWest Bank where he focused on the acquisition and integration of failed banks from the FDIC and managed a portfolio of nonperforming commercial real estate loans requiring workout. In 2011, Mr. McElyea and a small management team acquired a controlling stake in Meruelo Maddux Properties, Inc. in a transaction sponsored by Mount Kellett Capital Management. Mr. McElyea served as the Vice President of Finance for the public company and worked to effectuate a successful turnaround of the bankrupt property developer, culminating in the successful sale of the company, rebranded as EVOQ Properties, to a joint venture comprised of Atlas Capital Group, Square Mile Capital and USAA Real Estate Co. in 2014. Mr. McElyea is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and holds a BA in Economics from Colby College, a MS in Accountancy from California State University Long Beach and received his MBA from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business.
